Testimonial: “PPM AND ME, A TRUE ASCENT”

Publish date: 10 May 2022 / Health

Dr DOUKOURE Thierno Ismael , from the Promopharm agency in Guinea, wanted to share his journey with PPM Laboratories which, he says, “could inspire the youngest in their collaboration with PPM”.

“This long journey that I call “PPM AND ME, A TRUE ASCENSION” began in 2005 when, assistant in a pharmacy, I was contacted by Dr Sampou , Director of the Promed Pharma agency to join his team of medical representatives. I had no experience in the matter but I very often followed certain great delegates with admiration during their presentations so that I did not hesitate for a moment to answer the call. After a few days of reading about the products (Diaryl, Gynomax, Carbotoux, Allergyl, Panol, Caltoux , etc.) and the pathologies they treat, followed by two weeks of training, I was recruited as an intern. Dr. Diallo was then titular delegate. Like any beginner, the first weeks were not easy because I was nervous, but very quickly, the thirst for learning, the desire to succeed and achieve of objectives took over. I was passionate about making good presentations, which is why I took my time to learn about my products, the pathologies and my competitors.

In 2006, I rose to the rank of delegate. In my presentations, I was reinforced by feedback from doctors on the effectiveness of PPM products. I therefore had at my disposal the argument of efficiency coupled with that of accessibility, arguments which allowed me to meet all the prospects of large and small centers and therefore to achieve my objectives more easily. In a joking tone, some doctors told me that it was smart that our laboratory give names at our products that were always close to the names of pathologies in French language: Diaryl = Diarrhée; Allergyl = Allergie, etc.

My collaboration with PPM allowed me to cover almost all of the thirty-three prefectures in my country, with the exception of areas with very low potential. The presence of my products and their prescription on the extent of the territory earned me the name of ant, as if to say that I was present everywhere.

In 2012, I moved up to delegates supervisor. Thanks to the various trainings that I received during the seminars organized by PPM (Dakar, Bamako, Tunis, Dubai, etc.) on communication techniques, on products and pathologies, I assumed from 2014 to 2016 the position of supervisor Training Officer.

Always with the support of PPM, I have been on my own since 2017 under the banner of the Promopharm Guinea agency. This journey from intern to agency manager with PPM seemed important to me to tell the younger generation in order to instill in them a new dynamic in their collaboration with the laboratory. I take this opportunity to thank PPM Laboratories through Dr. Hay and Mrs. Coumba DIALLO as well as Dr. Sampou for recruitment and supervision.
